He joins a string of former national soccer players, including Lee Young-pyo, Lee Cheon-soo, Park Ji-sung, and Lee Dong-guk, who have spoken out after the federation announced legal action against Park Joo-ho.

"It's been a chaotic five months for Korean soccer," Cho Won-hee wrote on his YouTube channel, "and as a soccer player and a person who loves Korean soccer, I feel very sad," he said on Thursday.

"I was left speechless when I heard the news about the selection process of the Korean national soccer coach and the KFA's legal action against Park Joo-ho," he said.

"All the voices of support have been drowned out," he said. "I think we need to answer the questions that many people have about this situation accurately and clearly. I am deeply looking forward to making the right decision so that we can continue to cheer and support Korean soccer like crazy."

Former international player Park Joo-ho was a member of the Korea Football Association's National Strength and Conditioning Committee, but recently posted an exposé on his YouTube channel, Captain Pachuho.

He alleges that the process of Hong Myung-bo's appointment as national team coach was not handled according to procedure, and that some members of the strengthening committee pushed for the appointment of a domestic footballer over a foreign coach.

The KFA has reportedly decided to consider legal action against Park, saying he broke his confidentiality pledge.

In the meantime, former national team players such as Lee Young-pyo, Lee Cheong-soo, Park Ji-sung, and Lee Dong-guk have criticized the KFA one after another. They said they could not understand the KFA's decision to appoint Ulsan coach Hong Myung-bo as the national team's head coach.

He served as the head of the Korea Football Association's social contribution committee from January last year, but stepped down from the post in April after three months amid a public outcry over the federation's "surprise amnesty" for soccer players under discipline for reasons including involvement in match-fixing.
